RSPCA Visit
As you may be aware, to kick-start our inquiry topic (Endangered species) this term, we have invited the education team from SPCA Canterbury to present their animal welfare programme to each of our Year 7/8 classes on Wednesday 2nd May. Although this is a free programme for schools, we ask that if at all possible, could the students please bring a gold coin donation to assist this important charity within our community. Please feel free to send the gold coin along before Wednesday.
Term 2 Week 1
It was great to see everyone back at school yesterday.
Cross country season is upon us. Students need to have shoes to run in each day and can bring a t-shirt to change into for running. We were impressed with the effort and attitude displayed during our first training run on Monday. Our School Cross Country is on Thursday May 10th; this will be a class Scooby challenge, where everyone's results count!
Congratulations to Room 18 who are the first Scooby winners for the year, taking out last term's softball challenge.
Winter sport gets underway in week 4, Mr Rodger will post messages about this later in the week. A new sports tab will be added to the blog this week. Check here for sports messages and results.
Our topic for the term is Endangered Species. If you have any contacts with expertise in this area, we would love to hear from you. Classes will display their learning in a variety of ways at the Science and Technology Expo in week 10.
Leadership awards will be presented at PRIDE assembly next Friday at 10am. Well done to Latham, Brendon, Lyle, Daniel, Olivia, Jake, Koppany and Ties who will be receiving Bronze Awards and Hannah and Joseph C who will receive Silver Awards.

Back from camp
Hi everyone,
I hope your holiday is going well. We had an awesome time in Hanmer on school camp. A huge thanks to all the wonderful parents who came with us and to Mr Rodger for leading us through a great week. Check out the Photo Gallery tab to see a selection of camp photos. I'll put some up each day this week, so keep visiting. If you would like to obtain a collection of camp photos, bring a data-stick to school next week and download pictures from StudentWrite.
